Our history
The 1inch story began in 2019, when Sergej Kunz and Anton Bukov built the first DEX aggregator in 56 sleepless hours at an ETHGlobal hackathon in New York.
Since then, we’ve continued to lead DeFi innovation - introducing intent-based swaps in 2022, adding atomic cross-chain with MEV protection in 2024 and the first bridge-free swaps between Solana and EVM networks in 2025.
In late 2025, 1inch launched a new brand identity, centred on our role as leaders in uniting DeFi projects, protocols and liquidity into one seamless ecosystem.
